Connections | ELLA  | Women Owned Farms

Ella, which translates in English to “she, is a coffee produced by three women farmers around Huehuetenango, Guatemala. Women in Guatemala do approximately 70% of the farm work that comprises coffee growing and producing, yet make up a very small percentage of farm management or ownership. This coffee is the work of three women that have, through time and hard work, defied this statistic to forge a path for women farm-owners in their communities. This is a blend of coffees from three women producers, on their own farms — Jovita at Finca La Joya Grande, Rita at Finca Santa Rita, and Sofia at Finca Armenian Lorena. The coffee is balanced, sweet, chocolatey, and an all around crowd-pleaser.
